The newest coffee brewing method is the Aeropress. Since its invention in 2005, it has enjoyed great popularity. The Aeropress offers many advantages.

  • The material is shatter-proof and therefore practical when travelling

Plus, it's incredibly easy to prepare. To make sure it works, we'll share our basic recipe for delicious filter coffee with the Aeropress.

In addition to the Aeropress and the appropriate filters, you need a scale (ideally with a timer) and a kettle , and then you're ready to go.

The basic recipe for coffee from the Aeropress

1. You'll need 16 grams of medium-ground coffee and 230ml of water, which should be around 93 degrees Celsius. Now place the filter in the Aeropress and rinse it with a little hot water.

2. Now assemble the Aeropress and add the ground coffee to the filter.

3. Move the Aeropress slightly to create a flat bed of coffee.

4. Place your Aeropress on the scale, start the timer, and pour 50 ml of hot water over the coffee. Let it bloom for about 30 seconds.

5. After 30 seconds, add another 180ml of hot water and stir with the included Aeropress spatula.

6. Now carefully insert the plunger and let the coffee brew for another 2 minutes.

7. Now it's time to generate pressure. To do this, press the plunger down slowly and evenly, using only a little force.

Your coffee from the Aeropress is ready.
